Banana Bread (recipe in English)


Banana Bread



Banana Bread  is a type of bread that is made with mashed fully ripe bananas. It is often a moist, sweet, cake-like quick bread; however, there are some banana bread recipes that are traditional-style yeast breads.

It´s usually served in warm slices and smeared with butter.

A "Dulce de leche" frosting (or caramel frosting) is also a perfect match for this recipe.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar (200 g)
  • 1 stick (115 g) of Unsalted Butter at room temperature
  • 2 Eggs
  • 3 o 4 Ripe Bananas, lightly mashed
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract (Bourbon Madagascar Vanilla recomended)
  • 2 Tbsp Whole Milk
  • 230 g de harina
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • tsp Baking Soda


PROCESS 


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees (180º C).
  2. Grease a loaf pan (you can line the bottom with parchment paper).
  3. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment (you can use Thermomix or Kitchen Aid), cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy. 
  4. Add the eggs one by one and whisk to combine.
  5. Add the mashed bananas and vanilla and mix to combine.
  6. Add the flour, cinnamon, milk, baking powder, baking soda and salt and mix together until just combined.  Do not overmix!
  7. Pour batter into the prepared loaf and bake for 40 to 50 minutes (it depends on your oven). You can test it by inserting a toothpick in the center but remember it has to be a little moist (but only a little!)
